Question:
- How do I access, set up and use Cisco Jabber?
Steps:
- Step 1) If working remotely, first connect to the University Network with Cisco AnyConnect VPN.
- Step 2) Launch Cisco Jabber by double-clicking on the Cisco Jabber icon.

- Step 3) Accept the Certificate window
- Step 4) Enter your starID@nhcc.edu and click Continue.

- Step 5) Enter your StarID and password and click Sign In.


Making / Answering Calls
There are three options for making calls.
Making a phone call Option 1:
- Step 1) Click on the Call icon and enter the number in the search field.
- Step 2) Click on the green call button when the result window appears.
- Calling from Cisco Jabber is the same as calling from your desk phone
- You may dial 4-digit extensions for internal calls.
- You will need to use 9 + 10-digit dialing for external calls (example: 97634240957)
- For long distance calls you will need to use 9+1+10-digit dialing

Making a phone call Option 2:
- Step 1) Click on the Dial Pad and enter the number using the dial pad.
- Step 2) Click on the green call button.

Making a call Option 3:
- Step 1) Click on the Call icon.
- Step 2) Hover your mouse cursor over a recent call.
- Step 3) Click on the green call button.
Answering a Phone Call
- When a phone call comes in, a new window with caller ID information will pop up. Click on the green Answer button to take the call or click on the Decline button to decline the call.

Call In Progress and Ending a Call
- When a call is answered, a new window will pop up with the caller's information and calling options.

Voicemail and Meetings
Voicemail
- When a new voicemail message is left on your phone, a red number will appear on the voicemail icon. Click on the voicemail icon to display your messages.
- You may listen to your messages by selecting one of the messages and pressing the play button in the voicemail details screen. There are several options available:


Meetings
- Click on the Meetings button and your current meetings for the day will be displayed here.

Chat
- Step 1) Click on the Call icon and enter the name of the person in the search field.
- Step 2) Click on the Blue Chat button when the result window appears.


Chat Options
- Send a screen capture
- Send a file
- Mention a user
- Insert an emoticon
- Edit the font size and color
- Add participants to create group chats
- Show the chat in a new window
Collaborate With My Contacts
When chatting with a contact, you can use controls to:
- Add them to your contact list
- Share your screen
- Start an instant meeting
- Choose audio options
- Start a phone call
Note: - Chat options are only available for onsite users or users who are using Cisco AnyConnect VPN
Connecting a Headset
- Step 1) Enable Bluetooth pairing on your headset and click on the Bluetooth icon.
- Step 2) Your device should be displayed in the list. Click on the device to connect.


Line settings
Click on the down arrow to toggle between multiple line. This option will allow you to call out from different line if you are call center agent or assign multiple lines.

Call settings
Click on the down arrow to configure phone and forwarding options.
- Device for Calls: Select audio devices
- Select Use my computer to use the microphone and speaker installed on your computer. Example, Home and remote office
- Select Cisco 69XX/78XX to use your desk phone for audio.
- Forward Calls: Forward all incoming calls to another number or directly to voicemail.
