Employee Email and Login Information

How To 

Question: 

• What is my NHCC email address?
• How do I log in to my NHCC email?

Employee 1.) email address and 2.) O365 login

Your Email address is not the same as your login username

• Email Address:
  • firstname.lastname@nhcc.edu (example: jane.jones@nhcc.edu)
  • If there is more than one person with the same first and last name there may be a number included in an email address (example: jane.jones.2@nhcc.edu).
  • Your email address is not used as username to access your account. You use your O365 Login to access your account.

• O365 Login: yourstarid@minnstate.edu (example: xy4321ab@minnstate.edu)
  • You use your O365 to log in to access your email and O365 applications.

How to log in to your O365 account

• Using a web browser go to http://mail.office365.com/nhcc.edu and log in using your O365 login credentials:

O365 Employee Login:

• Username: StarID@minnstate.edu
• Password: StarID password

Log in Troubleshooting:

• If you receive an error message stating your password is incorrect please try:
  • Log in to D2L using only your StarID for your username (e.g. StarID username only: xy4321ab) with your StarID password. If you are able to successfully log in to D2L, you will need to reset your StarID password so that your password syncs across all the applications accessed by your account.  

How to Reset StarID Password:

• Important Note: It may be up to 30 minutes for your new password to take effect once your password is reset.
  • 1) Browse to StarID Self Service at starid.minnstate.edu
  • 2) Select Reset my Password
  • 3) Select one of the options to reset your password
    • If you select “I know my email” option, you will need to select a personal email address (such as gmail, yahoo, etc.) to obtain a verification code. Do NOT use your NHCC or other Minnesota State institution email address.
  • 4) Log in to your O365 account: Browse to: http://mail.office365.com/nhcc.edu and log in using your O365 login credentials (username: StarID@minnstate.edu and StarID password). Remember this can take up to 30 minutes to sync after reset.
