Eduroam - CAT / geteduroam App on Android Devices

Overview

NHCC uses the eduroam wireless network, the official campus Wi‑Fi for students, faculty, and staff. This guide walks you through installing and configuring Wi‑Fi access via the geteduroam app for Android, making setup simple and secure

Instructions

Step 1: Start Installation via CAT

  1. On your Android device, open a web browser and visit:
    https://cat.eduroam.org
  2. Tap the eduroam® button.
  3. When prompted, proceed with installing the geteduroam app from the Play Store.

Step 2: Install the geteduroam App

  1. In the Play Store, search for geteduroam.
  2. Tap Install, then Open once installation finishes.

Step 3: Configure the App

  1. Launch geteduroam.
  2. In the search field, type and select Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.
  3. Read the Terms of Use; tap Agree to continue.

Step 4: Authenticate with StarID

  1. The app installs a configuration profile and prompts for credentials.
  2. Enter your credentials:
    • Students: StarID@go.minnstate.edu + StarID password
    • Employees: StarID@minnstate.edu + StarID password
  3. Tap Next, then Save.

Step 5: Connect & Verify

  1. The app will automatically configure eduroam on your device.
  2. Tap Close app to exit.
  3. Go to Settings → Wi‑Fi and confirm you are connected to eduroam.
