Food Cupboard Assistant

Department: Care Center 

Job Description: 

The Food Cupboard Student Worker position assists with day-to-day operations of the NHCC Food Cupboard to support students’ basic needs and overall wellbeing. This is an on-campus position focused on providing welcoming and confidential support to students accessing food, hygiene, and other CARE Center services. Daily responsibilities include: 

• Welcome students and visitors, explain service procedures, and assist visitors with check out.  

• Receive and stock food and hygiene items as needed within the Food Cupboard.  

• Support with deliveries and donations, and properly stock items.  

• Organize, clean, and sanitized the Food Cupboard and storage areas, including disposal of cardboard and recycling.  

• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environmen

Wage: $15 per hour

Job Qualifications: 

• Must be work study eligible.  

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. 

• Must be reliable and consistent.  

• Excellent customer service, communication, and organization skills.  

• Commitment to maintaining student and employee confidentiality at all times.  

• Experience using Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Teams.  

• Takes initiative on tasks that need to be completed.  

• *Preference will be given to students who are available work Tuesday afternoons/evenings and Thursdays during daytime hours.
