Cisco AnyConnect VPN Remote Access

How To

Question: 

• How can I connect through the Virtual Private Network to connect to & use ISRS, Shared Folders, and ImageNow off campus?

• How do I disconnect from the Virtual Private Network?

Steps to Connect: 

1. Your laptop will have the Cisco AnyConnect application already installed.

2. Search for Cisco AnyConnect client in the programs list.

   1. What it will look like for PCs with a Windows 10 operating system
      

3. Click on the Cisco AnyConnect application to launch the program.

4. Type in vpn.nhcc.edu if not already in the field and click the Connect button.
   

5.     Type in your StarID and password in the Username and Password fields. Click OK. Once successfully authenticated, a VPN connection will be established. 
   

6. You can verify the connection is established by viewing the icons in the Windows system tray in the lower right side of the screen. The closed lock on the AnyConnect symbol signifies an established connection.
   

1. If you would like further verification, right click on the AnyConnect icon and click on Open AnyConnect. A green check mark will be displayed on the image of the lock and the Roaming Security image. 

Steps to Disconnect: 

1. Right click on the Cisco AnyConnect icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen. 

2. Click Disconnect.
