Securing Zoom
- Requiring participants to sign in with their StarID and password before joining a meeting is the simplest way for Minnesota State Users to secure Zoom meetings.
- It is strongly encouraged all Zoom users change their settings to enable the Waiting Room for all their meetings.
- On April 1, 2020, the default setting for those using the Minnesota State Zoom service (https://minnstate.zoom.us) was changed so that individuals without a StarID are placed in the Zoom waiting Room awaiting admittance from a Meeting Host.
- If you are signed into the Zoom app with your StarID, you'll bypass the Waiting Room and join your meeting without delay.
